America achieved the impossible when Apollo 11 landed on the moon.
Is America capable of achieving the impossible again? Are we as individuals capable of achieving the impossible again? I hope so, and I dream that the next giant step for mankind is a world fueled by the sun and wind. I hope and dream that America puts the same energy it put into landing on the moon toward a complete commitment to clean energy. Imagine an America where we achieved the impossible again - not just an independence from foreign oil, but from all oil, coal, and gas.

Lot's to overcome, not technically, but politically. The power and money behind oil. coal and nuclear has no match in solar and wind.
As pv panel prices have plummeted, so will inverter prices and BOS (balance of system) in the future. Grid parity for solar is not far off. Short term feed-in tariffs would allow the solar industry the ability to get to grid parity within a few years. No one wold be seriously hurt by a penny a KWH tariff.
We can get there, we WILL get there !
I am now on solar and wind the last 3 years for 75% of my energy usage for December - March. Looking forward to expanding.

Allen - thanks for the comment. You make me feel like there is hope. We are hoping to have solar panels installed this fall! Big Smile, Sarah
